Baby It’s Cold Outside from Neptune’s Daughter movie
Baby, It’s Cold Outside from the Neptune’s Daughter Soundtrack.
Performed by Ricardo Montalban and Esther Williams
also performed by Red Skelton and Betty Garrett
The song “Baby It’s Cold Outside” was not planned to be in this film. It took the place of Frank Loesser’s “(I’d Like to Get You on a) Slow Boat to China,” which the Hays Office thought inappropriate. However, “Slow Boat” was still used as underscoring in the fashion show scene.
Loesser wrote the duet in 1944 and premiered the song with his wife at their Navarro Hotel housewarming party. It went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 22nd Academy Awards
